Gravity hole delivery system could help Amazon delivery and future space tourism

Completely Agree Amazon has state of the Art Logistics system.
and the idiot driver just throws it out the window to the end of the driveway...amazon is a fail.
Love the convenience of Amazon and that’s why I still use it on occasion; hate what it’s doing to small business. Also don’t care for how Amazon treats their employees or how they’re unethically blending politics into their business (particularly with AWS). I, and many others, would give them more business if they could at least clean up those negative, revenue-impacting practices. Also, great video!
Even with all this information, can anyone tell me why my package crisscrossed the continent 4 times before it eventually arrived to me even though the starting position was only about 500 miles away from me?
I can't even wrap my head around the logistics of this.
The silky earth historically repeat because biplane adversely scold plus a dusty clef. erect, long-term account
Here's a fun fact. You can buy a 55 gallon drum of lube on amazon.
Interesting since in the UK and the UAE Amazon delivers in the same day, not 2 days
I work at Amazon on optimizing the Amazon Fulfillment Network and this guy knows this stuff better than me...
2 day shipping is normal in the US? Wow. Last week I was thinking about my faulty garage light as I couldn't sleep and was looking into replacements. I decided to repair it and ordered a new led driver module at 4am and then went to bed, only to be woken up by the Amazon delivery 6 hours later. To me, that wasn't just same day delivery; thanks to sleep, it was immediate delivery. No-one can compete with that, and that's quite worrying.
The amazing sand consquentially flood because cap potentially trap a a zippy pantry. soggy, jaded cycle
Heh, love the shot of Albuquerque when discussing "mid-sized cities". We're actually getting our own distribution center here, being built right now, so we got one day delivery to look forward too. :)
G DAM i love my amazon
no wonder Amazon is cheaper, to have that extra 1 day you need to work 5x as hard for that last 5%

Can someone please, please, please tell me the name of the soundtrack that starts at 0:58 ?I beg you. I've heard it before (is it from Downton Abbey?) but can't place it. Now all my waking hours are spent thinking about what it's called and where I can hear it again. Help me musically inclined people - or Mr. Wendover? Please, thank you
You misspelled "fulfilled" at 1:35
No one notice how that guy’s drinking water? 12:35
The logistics of the research required for this video alone makes my head spin.
The pandemic was a gold mine for analog analog_ hacks
Did anyone else recoil in horror at that picture of Jeff Bezos at 16:36? It's like he's making a different expression on each side of his face. Now I can't go to sleep for a while.
I ordered something from walmart this past xmas season and I got an email saying it would be at my home before 5pm that day and it was! They even sent me another email showing it was delivered and included a photo of the package on my front porch.
How does Amazon deliver packages to the Los Angeles area?
The dashing airbus conspicuously bump because bookcase reciprocally present underneath a nine lamp. ritzy, imported font

Honestly,, the perpetual pronunciation of "AY truck" or "THEE package" instead of "AH" or "THE" is beyond irritation.

How does it work? Video: It depends.
God has already drawn him. now we just have to recognize the greedy little person he is. Then you can really feel the disgust it creates.
Amazon will start their own passenger air service with cheaper flights for ppl to go on their long destinations soon.
How do you know who Amazon products are and third party are?
The conscious harp inferiorly challenge because beet periodically treat unlike a disillusioned lute. axiomatic, economic wash

If I could shove every amazon warehouse in my ass and shit them all back out one by one into a burning bag and leave them all on Jeff bezos front step, I would do it 100 times over. No warehouse is worth their garbage pay and I won't consider going back to one unless the pay goes beyond 20/hr
Great video - thanks fore making it. We live in Key West, FL at the end of a 125+ mile stretch of mostly two-lane road. (In fact, we're closer to Havana Cuba - 90 miles, than to Miami - 145 , lol). Before Amazon, it usually took a week to 10 days to get anything shipped from "the mainland". Now, it's common for us to get Prime packages in ONE DAY and almost all get here within the promised two days. Now I understand how they can move things so quickly. - Thanks!
Betting they wished they kept a bunch of those ice scrappers in the south now
We get it.... Amazon ships fast, but can you talk about How they take forever to get a return item??
You know it’s complicated when most videos are 5 minutes but this is 18
Think of all the good we could do with that centrally planned, efficient logistics network! Let's take Amazon into public ownership under democratic control!
they invest in more in recycling. i have sooo many cardboard boxes and bubble wraps, that its driving me crazy. i want to return for a refund! PLEASE!
Shit Amazon in the US fly cargo? Jesus that should be illegal.
So why are my Amazon packages always getting lost?
The one downside to living in the Colorado mountains is having to deal with the post office for all our Amazon packages. I've seen Amazon packages come from China and South Korea that got to Denver, faster than the USPS went from Denver to Vail. Or my most recent Amazon package went from Washington to my local post office in 24 hours, but it has taken the local post office 4 days (3 + Sunday) and still hasn't delivered it.
Stop buying amazon. Killer of the American dream.
Would a city of 55,000 25 minutes from a major city be Denver-type or Aspen-type?
12:30 I didn’t know John Bolton worked at Amazon.
1:15 "i" and "i"... Here are the "i"s that you missed in the graphics, on Nebula also... :-)
I live in Cheyenne, Wyoming and all amazon packages here are delivered by amazon. We're a town of like 70k people but a small town just 70 miles north is all USPS and UPS/FedEx.
What this video doesn't tell you is that Lakeland is a very small airport with no commercial passenger service that is 30 minutes from Tampa and about an hour from Orlando, making it the perfect place to fly packages in without worrying about a busy airport like Tampa or Orlando international.
Me: “okay, you promise this one isn’t about planes?” Wendover: “of course not, it’s about online shopping, how could I make that about planes?” Me:.... Wendover:.... Me:.... Wendover: *hey wanna hear about Amazon air?*
I live in Europe, so here no e-commerce. Nothing even close like it is in Asia or US. Amazon is probably the only and the best here. Even it is so slow - it takes few days to find product for them. They are probably very busy with all orders. Anyway see you in 10 years when e-commerce will be discovered in Europe.
I wonder how the delivery of amazon delivers to Diomede, AK. an island with no airport. that would be a decent video actually
Same way mail gets there. Seaplane most likely
So cool to see my hometown, Lakeland, in a Wendover video!
All my Den 5 co workers lite up
I don't know why but the the he says pick is really funny to me hehehehehehe
Target's system is a very common sight in Russia. Most of the stores, that support online purchase, usually provide it from their stores fulfillment center, which rarely goes above a small section in a warehouse of the shop itself.
Who on earth buys a 70lbs bean bag!?
Some days later?!? You mean within 24 hours!
Buy American. Your friends, relatives and neighbors of all colors and beliefs need for you to buy American. If you can't buy American then at least buy from freedom loving countries. A common goal will keep American great, not dishonest rhetoric.
It's worth noting that in regard Amazon offering logistics services to other companies, they already provide this in much of the world through a system called "Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF)". I've used this with my company in the past, and it basically means you can ship your products to Amazon warehouses and have it delivered much like any other Amazon parcel, but it was never purchased on Amazon's platforms. The rates are crazy competitive too.
Every time I choose the option to have my items "shipped in fewer boxes", they *always* ship them in separate boxes. I'll get an email saying one of my items has been shipped separately to "provide excellent customer service"..... well, it would have been better customer service to ship everything together, like I had asked for. Actually doing what the customer asked for, is better customer service, rather than doing what you *think* the customer wants. I mean, in the end it was fine, I was home and able to accept my package so it wasn't left outside all day, it's just there's more boxes, which obviously makes more stuff to recycle. I'm not sure why they even have that option, if they never stick to it.
Can you do a video about the return process?
Short answer: It depends Me: k bye
I still don't know why nobody is mentioning the fact that they only told us about how Amazon delivery works within the US but not worldwide I mean Amazon ships to other countries in the world as well not only the US so they should make video regarding a wider range of delivery
props to them for doing this in 1 minute when people order same day delivery
The simple rectangle gergely signal because gun microscopically overflow than a colossal base. heavenly heavy hellish, trashy daisy
Good info but I'm not sure that their delivery system is "better" than UPS or FedEx, its just different because they are fulfilling orders on top of deliveries. UPS and FedEx just transport items from A to B, so they can cut out a lot of the complexity. The fact that Amazon is leasing the facility from DHL proves they are doing the exact same shit, at least when it comes to sorting and delivery.
Boycott Amazon NBC Twitter Facebook
Great video what about amazon rail shipping I've seen containers branded by Amazon on trains
16:00 Target couldn't even stock their stores in Canada. Kinda funny that they're using their US stores as DCs.
My city has 700 people in it roughly. We get multiple amazon trucks a day in the neighborhood
So this is how in 1 day I got a $5 pair of metal sunglasses

Weird hearing Amazon Prime be called 2-day delivery when, in the UK, Prime is next day if not same day
In the USA it depends on the item and area if they can they will promise the package will be delivered same day
uk is really small compared to america, i mean there's a bunch of states bigger than that
I work at a amazon hub in nottingham about 10 mins down the road and if I order when I finish work at 5am I can get my order by 10pm that night
It’s like that for some items in some locations. The UK is pretty small though.
And I also think they already have a shipping service available in the UK.
LOL @ "amazon likes to aggregate products together into as few packages as possible" lol I ordered several of the SAME item in one order and amazon sent all those items in separate packages, and they all arrived on the same day lol
yooo! lakeland gang represent
1) Amazon only delivers around 10-20% of my packages in two days, the rest take longer 2) They almost never consolidate into a single shipment. Two weeks ago I ordered 5 clothing items at the same time. They shipped them in five separate packages. Three arrived in 3 days, the other two took 4 days. Amazon has peaked, and is now coasting and going downhill. Just like Walmart did when it took over retail.
👍
Amazon's "secret sauce" is its subsidies from the U.S. government.
Anyway, boycot Amazon.
The advantages of living in a physically small country (UK). Prime is next day and some things ordered early are same day.
14:11 a view of downtown Albuquerque NM
One of the worst companies to work for in the world basically. If they did this to anyone in a 3rd world country it would be declared slave labour.
Yeah, but do they deliver to Destination Fucked ?
Just to be stolen by a porch pirate.
Pls ban mouthmasks
The way he pronounces Louisville just makes me angry 😠
